Hi all, hope this will help some of you. These instructions are for a joomla site that is online (not local host) and the FMS is setup on the Localhost Pc.
1) Install Flash media sever (FMS) using default settings
2) Create a folder “vw” in the FMS applications directory “C:\Program Files\Adobe\Flash Media Server 3.5\applications\vw”
3) Download this file (FMIS application) http://www.videowhisper.com/downloads/videowhisper_fmis.zip
4) Extract this file “main.asc” to the folder you just created “C:\Program Files\Adobe\Flash Media Server 3.5\applications\vw”
5) Install the joomla component on your joomla website. http://www.videowhisper.com/downloads/com_videowhisper_conference.zip
6) Go to the component settings in joomla “VideoWhisper.com Conference”
7) The RTMP path is the address of your Pc external IP address. If you are using a router then you need the routers external address. Similar to this “rtmp://122.107.199.299/vw”. This address is pointing to the folder you just created in your FMS applications folder on your Pc. Your pc is now the FMS server that will host the Conference.
8) Now create an “external link” menu item. Similar to this http://www.joomlasite.com/index.php?option=com_videowhisper_conference&view=vw&format=raw. “Joomlasite” is the ULR for your joomla site.
9) If you are using a router then you might need to open up the following ports to send and receive port connections to your Pc/FMS server. Ports: 80, 443, 1935. You might want to turn off your pc firewall as well. Go here to test these ports if you like http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/164/tn_16466.html
10) Start Adobe Flash Media Server 3.5.1 on the local Pc and Start Flash Media Administration Server 3.5.1., Connect to the Flash Media Administration Console and make sure “vw” is present in “applications”. It is under the Manage severs section.
11) Now try the link on your joomla site that you just created in step 8. It may ask you to login. Create an account and try the link again. If you receive connection error then make sure your firewall is off and the above mentioned ports are being forwarded or can be "triggered". Check your external IP address is correct. Also try restart server from the Flash Media Administration Console.
I hope that helps some of you. Good luck Matt
