VideoWhisper 2 Way Video Chat is a premium high definition video communication software designed for instant 1 on 1 online video conferencing. It's a solution for conducting easy to setup face to face meetings without leaving your office or home.

Drupal6 integration can be tested by registering a free account on the Video Conference Software Drupal powered website. After registering and login in, use Create Content > 2 Way Video Chat room or My Rooms : Create New Instant Video Chat Room from the user menu to create a 2 way video chat room for testing. All demos use the software in trial mode (free license) so you see exactly what you get if you install the free version on your site.

This integration is provided as a GPL module. The module manages configuring the video chat software, creating video chat rooms with mutliple settings, listing rooms, accessing room links and removing rooms.

How does this work?

Site members (as allowed by permissions) can instantly create 2 way video chat rooms and send the access links to the ones they want to encounter. Chat rooms are created as Drupal nodes.

With this Drupal integration, room settings, including quality and streaming time, can be defined and used to control quality and duration of service. This virtually allows website owner to provide controlled premium services.

As a business idea, the module can be developed further to include quality chat time by payments or membership.

Installation Instructions

Before installing, make sure your hosting environment meets all requirements.

1. If you're not hosting RTMP with us go to RTMP Application Setup for installation details.
2. If you download module & application, copy the files from the zip file including folder structure to your public website location. That means you should have a 2wvc folder in your drupal web root folder (usually public_html). If you already installed the drupal module, just download the application and copy the 2wvc folder and contents to the root of your drupal installation.
3. Login to your Drupal 6 administrator account and go to Administer > Site Building > Modules and enable 2 Way Video Chat. Click Save configuration button at page bottom.
4. Go to Administer > Site Configuration > 2 Way Video Chat and fill your rtmp application path (get it from step 1).
5. Go to Administer > User Management > Permissions , scroll down to v2wvc module and enable permissions as desired. Users can be allowed to create and manage their own rooms, visitors can be allowed to access chats (so invite links work for people nor registered on the site) and admins to manage all rooms.

Usage Instructions

After installation a new menu will be available for users: My Rooms. This will allow managing rooms created by that user and creating new rooms. Rooms can also be created with Create Content > 2 Way Video Chat room . Rooms are generated as Drupal nodes.

Module License

This Drupal 6 integration module is provided with full php source code under GPL. This basicly means you can use, tweak, distribute the module php files as you wish. Contact us if you have interesting tweaks for this or derived modules and want to share these with the world.
